ince he was a child, the BARBYMAN loved music, art and acting. His Father insisted he learn the accordion, but BARBYMAN’s heart wasn’t in it. Born in 1941 to German parents in occupied Poland, he left Poland in 1945 and was lucky to have survived. His Grandfather, brother of his grandfather and family were all thrown into a drinking well. Anti-German sentiment was everywhere. His grandfather was transported to Siberia but didn’t survive the journey. Dad, mum and three siblings took the last train out of Poland and landed In Berlin, where most German Refugees ended up. His dad got a job In Frankfurt-Main, working day and night to feed and clothe his children. BARBYMAN finished School at the 8th Grade but wasn't happy with jobs on offer. He tried to get into acting Academy, but like most things in Life, it’s not what you know, but Who you know. So BARBYMAN joined the Merchant navy, travelling all over the World. Eventually he bought a Guitar and he fell in love with it. He stayed almost two Years in the Merchant navy and on his 18 Birthday he arrived back in Germany. He was still restless and tried to write Short stories. Then National Service came knocking on the Door. He hated War and tried to immigrate to any country what was willing to take him. Canada was his first choice as he had family there. Brazil was his second choice as lots of German Companies were working there. Australia was his third choice.
